Standard metered usage submission process

Metered usage can be submitted to marketplaces by an API request or through the marketplace UI. Request is a standard API term.

Metered usage API requests, (also known as calls), are performed to send usage data to marketplaces. Each request can include one or more usage events, which are individual usage records. When metered usage requests are submitted with an optional caller-generated Request Group Identifier, the requests appear together in the UI.

You can also upload the metered usage data from the marketplace UI.

To upload Metered Usage from your marketplace UI:

  1. Go to Manage > Marketplace > Dashboard | BILLING | Metered Usage.
    The Metered usage page opens.
  2. Click the File Upload tab.
  3. Select the Standard button.
  4. Click Download file template to download the metered usage template CSV file that you can use to add your metered usage information.
  5. Update the metered usage information in the downloaded CSV file. For details of the template file, see Metered usage file format.
  6. After updating the file, go to the File Upload tab, in the upload section click Choose File and select your CSV file.
  7. Click Upload.
    The file is uploaded and is listed in the Upload Logs section and in the Metered Usage tab along with the process status. For more information on various statuses, see Metered usage processing status.
